I've tested doing the update file by file. No message, just simply won't open after double clicking it or selecting open in the menu. I got the game running on my Mac with Mojave, played for a couple of hours until I died, game crashed and now the app won't open. My hero! This worked for me! You're the best!! Hope it can help getting you ready for Green! I then had problems with wineskin not being able to run "dsetup.dll", but after I changed the engine used (under "Tools", "Change Engine Used") to "WS9Wine2.22" it worked like a charm. Create an eqclient.ini file in the Everquest directory and paste in:ġ4. Apply latest patch from project1999 to the EQ folderġ2. Then click "Run" to install these elements.ġ1. Under "fonts" (still in "Winetricks") click "corefonts", under settings click videomemorysize=2048. Under "Advanced" click tools and "Winetricks", under dlls click d3dx9 and under settings glsl=disabled (not sure if this is really necessary), but worked for me.ġ0. Under "Screen options" deselect "Auto Detect GPU Info for Direct3D"ĩ. Add "patchme" to the exe-flags (under "Advanced")Ĩ. After installing make sure to select the correct windows exe (will be eqgame.exe) (under "Advanced")ħ. Name it P99 or similar and install EQ Titanium using "Install Software" in WineskinĦ. Created New Blank Wrapper in Wineskin Wineryĥ. Installed latest Wineskin Winery (v.1.7)Ĥ. Remove all old P99 wrappers, wine, wineskin etc.Ģ. I then installed bootcamp and played there, but with the advent of green I decided to give it another go and to my surprise got it working on my Mojave installation. I tried a lot, new install of eq in the wrapper, updating the wrapper with recommendation from this thread, Vile's wrapper, etc. If you still want to run EQ within MACOS try parallels.Īnd yes windows 10 you can download the ISO from the microsoft website, but technically you still have to activate it (and some functions will not be available till you do).Īfter a re-install of my MacBook Pro around half a year ago I could not get wineskin to work again (I had been playing for a long time using Wineskin). The good thing about the game being so old is that it runs fine in a virtual machine, while gaming performance usually sucks in parallels.Īnyways if you want the best experience (or have an extremely old mac): bootcamp Actually now that I'm running in windows I can't seem to change the gamma anymore, the only thing that works is just increasing the brightness of my screen :(. Strange I was able to change the gamma in wineskin before. Game is old so literally anything with windows can run it. I did not do Bootcamp, but just got my old windows laptop from 2012 going again with windows 10. Although I did experience the game in original dark mode when it was night :) I played a few months as a newbie on mac with wineskin but didn't realise my gamma was fucked. Especially for us actually working in MACOS it is more than just an inconvenience. True the biggest downside being of course that you have to restart every time you want to play EQ. I hold Option during boot, select Windows, and I have a full Win10 machine right there. I know this entire thread is about running EQ in the native OS, but Bootcamp is free, and so is Windows 10 (you don't have to register it to run EQ). Just want to say that I've been running EQ on my MacBooks no problem using Bootcamp. Go to your game's ui/default directory and paste them there, overwriting as needed. Copy them by going to File > Copy x items located in Finder's top menu.Ħ. Select all the files in that directory.ĥ. Go back to the new patch files that you previously downloaded and find the ui/default directory within. Copy the files in this default directory to your game's ui/default directory.Ĥ. The files will unzip into a default directory.ģ. I fixed my install by finding the original ui/default files and copying the new files over correctly, then I copied the patch's files over rather than the directory. In Windows, when you copy a source directory to an existing target directory, the system ADDS the source directory's files to the target directory, prompting to replace / skip / etc any existing files, but keeping any files that were already there. This is different from a Windows machine. I believe that, on a Mac, when you drag a source directory to an existing target directory the system effectively deletes the target directory and then copies over the source directory. Basically, we all nuked the contents of our existing ui/default directory. Error loading skin: loading default skin instead. Couldn't open or read UIFiles\default\EQLSUI.xml Attempting to use file from Default skin. Warning: file EQLSUI.xml not found in directory UIFiles\default\. UIErrorLog created at Sun Feb 10 09:36:08 2019 I'm having the same issue on Mac after downloading P99Files46 and adding to the EQ directory.Įrror in your GUI XML files.
